With his locs long and his swagger high, Marc Bravo strides in buzzing off of his performance. After such an electrifying and crowd engaging act, Marc sits with me to discuss the origins of his musical journey and the source of his inspiration. His music, with heavy neo soul influence, strives to elevate and inspire the black community. It pushes to move the community into a space where we can truly believe anything is possible and that we do not have to exist within the limitations or boundaries society has set upon us. “I eventually have plans to start ‘Project Africa’ which aims to help African Americans have dual citizenship,” Marc says. Having multiple endeavors lined up outside of music, it is safe to say that black people are at the forefront of his creative, artistic, and personal goals. With his purpose clear and his path paved by God, Marc Bravo is charging full speed ahead towards his aspirations.

Who are you?

My name is Marc Bravo. My stage name is also Marc Bravo. My instagram handle is @Marcbrav0

How long have you been doing music and what's the story behind how you began

I started doing music 12 years ago. Growing up, I wanted to be a child star. I was determined to be the next Lil Romeo or Lil Bow wow to come out [laughs]. It didn't end up working out that way but all my talents from working for so long have finally started to pay off. I signed my first record deal last year.

Congratulations on that! How would you describe your music?

I would say I’m the hip hop version of Erykah Badu. So it's basically neo soul hip hop.

What message are you hoping to put out into the world with your music?

I am hoping to spread love first and foremost. I am hoping to spread the message to black people that we can exist on our own outside of this society. And to inspire others to chase their dreams.

Who are some of your biggest inspirations?

I would say Max B. Jesus Christ. Erykah Badu. Those are my top 3 for sure.

What is your main motivation to keep going on this journey?

I really let God work through me so that I don't have to stay motivated. I’m just very in tune with my emotions and purpose. So motivation for me is inevitable.

Where can we go to look for your next project?

My next project will be “For U by U” and you can look for it on all platforms.
